University og Iceland´s Institute for Re-education is holding a seminar on genetically modified organisms (GMOs) Friday the 11th of March, starting at 14.00 at Dunhagi 7 in Reykjavík. The seminar covers the following main subjects: Transfer of genetic material between organisms; risks and benefits of genetic modification; the use of GMOs in the production of food, feed and medicine; ethical questions; regulations and control of GMOs. The seminar is organised by dr. Eva Benediktsdóttir who is a reader in microbiology in the biology division at the University of Iceland. Several other experts will cover particular subjects.
