What is Gene Science?

In  1953  Francis Crick (1916-2004)  and  James  Watson (1928-), two scientists working in Cambridge, England, discovered the ‘Double Helix’ structure of DNA.  The life processes, body structures and physiological functions of every living organism, from the smallest bacteria to the most complicated mammal, is partly and to a variable degree regulated by its DNA. DNA is sometimes called ‘the code for life’. The promise made by gene science is that if we can understand how DNA works, then we can manipulate life in a predictable and controlled manner.
